Galle Fort, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a captivating labyrinth of streets with a rich history dating back to the Dutch colonial period. You’ll also have the chance to tour the Kosgoda turtle hatchery, a hub for sea turtle conservation. Witnessing the age-old tradition of stilt fishing, known for its Instagram-worthy moments, is another cultural highlight. Additionally, you’ll have an opportunity to explore the Weherahena Viharaya temple, adorned with a colossal Buddha statue.
Over the course of two days, you’ll embark on an exhilarating safari within Yala National Park, where your 4×4 vehicle will navigate the grasslands in search of wildlife, including sloth bears, leopards, and crocodiles. Lastly, your journey will lead you to the Udawalawe elephant transit camp, where you can observe the feeding of elephant calves and gain insights into their reintegration into the wild.
